Benelli Motors is aggressively testing their Leoncino Scrambler in India, barely one month after it first showed face on the country’s roads. The bike will come out next year and should come with the tag of ‘most affordable Scrambler’ in the country.
Here are more details:
|Price||Rs. 4.02 lakhs|
The Benelli Leoncino has a neo-retro scrambler design language which is similar to that of the Yamaha XSR300. It is basically an old-fashioned Scrambler build with modern equipment and features, and we love it! Design is impressive, and it gets a large fuel tank, single LED headlamp and an all-digital instrument console. Seat is a single stepped-up unit that, complimented by its high handlebar, provides an upright stance. The bike was even spotted with a rear saree guard on one of the earlier test mules.
Features are top notch and the Leoncino comes with 50mm USD forks at front and rebound-adjustable monoshock at rear. Braking duties are done by impressive dual 320 mm discs at the front, with 4-piston radial calliper, and single 260 mm disc with a single piston calliper at rear. ABS is provided as standard. The bike is built around a trellis frame.
Power for the bike comes from a 499.6cc single cylinder mill producing 47.5 PS of power at 8,500 rpm and 45 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. This is the same mill that’s being used on the TRK502 and comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.
Benelli Leoncino price and launch date
The Benelli Leoncino 500 was launched in Malaysian market in October this year. The bike is expected to come to India early next year and should be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, Delhi.
The bike is likely to be priced slightly over Rs. 4 lakhs in the country.
