Here’s a company which doesn’t know how to put a limit to the word ‘Speed’. From almost unbelievably breaking ( unofficially ) the record for being the fastest production car ever built , The name Hennessey lingered in everyone’s mind and was pulled in to every conversion that involved speed. We where hoping that the American manufacturer would take advantage of their new found popularity and bring out a less powerful version of the the Venom ,But it is not to be . Infact they have bigger plans in mind and is in making of a much more powerful version of the venom , capable of hitting an outrageous 470kmph! ( which is 290mph!). And they have given it a very appropriate name too, The Venom F5 .
What does the F5 signify you ask? Its a form of nomenclature used to categorize Cyclones . According to the Fugita scale F1 signify a category of the least powerful Cyclones while F5 signify the most powerful ones, capable of gushing out winds as fast as 420-511 kmph. And hence the name .
Laying underneath all the exterior magnificence is a monster waiting to be unleashed , A monster which in automobile terms can be expressed as a 7.0 liter V8 ,producing a jaw dropping power figure of 1400 bhp . But ofcourse all this is still under testing , but Hennessey is pretty confident about pulling it off , and there seems to be no reason why we shouldn’t believe them . The Engineers are said to be working really hard , already limiting the weight of the car to a minimal 1300kg and bringing down the drag coefficient to almost .4 from the .44 of the venom GT. These factors make the car churn out more that 1 horsepower for every Kg .
The F5 will be based on the Lotus platform , much like its sibling the GT . However the car would sport a new exterior design with an all-carbon body, which though not completely original does its job well . Apart from this ,the car will also feature a new single clutch paddle-shift gearbox and a GPS based traction control system .
The Venom F5 will make official appearance in 2015 and is expected to be priced north of 1.5 million dollars . Only 30 of the cars will be made and will reach the their respective owners by 2016 .
Stay tuned for more!
