List of least selling motorcycles for May 2016. Bikes which fall in to the low selling, premium category and those which are not available through out India have been excluded from the list.
While Honda has been very successful in their scooter and motorcycle segment, some of their motorcycles just refuse to sell. Among them are the CBR twins- Honda CBR150r and CBR250r. Numerous reasons can be cited for their low sales including high prices and increased competition from bikes such as Yamaha R15/R15S and KTM twins. But for most part the bikes are in want of an update and people expect something to come up soon. It must be noted that twin headlamp versions of the bikes are available in the global market since 2014.
Two Royal Enfield motorcycles features in the list. The RE Continental GT comes in at 3rd while the Thunderbird 500 is placed in 8th spot. Increased competition, lesser power and customers’ preference of the ‘Classic’ series are some of the causes. Suzuki and Hero also have 2 bikes in the list. Mahindra and TVS each get one. Mahindra Mojo 300 sold only 84 units in May but we have not included it in the list due to the limited availability.
