Update 22/11/16 – Power and torque output of the CBR250RR revised.
Honda has revised the power and torque output of their CBR250RR, and they now measure 38.7 PS and 23.3 Nm respectively. This was caused due to an error in measurement system used by their Indonesian division.
With this development, the new CBR250RR has become the most powerful quarter liter motorcycle currently in production.
Update 2/11/16- Honda CBR250RR launched
Honda has launched the much awaited CBR250RR in Indonesia and in the process has revealed its power and torque figures. The bike produces
27.1 kW (36.8 PS) 38.7 PS of power at 12,500 rpm and 22.5 Nm 23.3 Nm of torque at 10,500 rpm. These are slightly lesser that what we were expecting.
- Length- 2,060 mm
- Width- 724 mm wide
- Height- 1,098 mm tall
- Wheelbase -1,389 mm
- Ground clearance- 145 mm
- Ride height- 790 mm r
- Fuel tank- 14.5 litres.
In order to be competitive in markets other than Japan and Indonesia, the bike needs to have power atleast near the 40 bhp mark. This is where the rumors of a higher displacement CBR350RR bodes well. For example, the Yamaha R25 is capable of producing 35.5 BHP while its bigger ‘R3’ sibling (available in most global markets including India) can deliver 41.4 Bhp.
We have talked about this in detail on one of our earlier article: Why the CBR250RR will not launch in India?
The bike is available in two trims- ABS and non-ABS, priced at IDR 62.9m (INR 3.2 lakh) and IDR 68.9m (INR 3.52 lakh) respectively.
