Honda is the undisputed king of the mini-street segment in USA- selling motorcycles like the Grom, Monkey and Supercub. In fact, ‘Grom’ has become so synonymous with the segment that rival offerings like the Z125 Pro are often called Kawasaki’s Grom. However, the Z125 is a capable machine in its own right and is even cheaper by 200 dollars.
These are two of the most affordable ‘street-legal’ motorcycles in the country, perfect for beginners and enthusiats alike. Let’s check out what they have to offer.
Grom vs Z125 Design
There’s only so much you can cramp in to a bikes of this dimension. While the have similar size, the Honda Grom and Kawasaki Z125 Pro have different things going for them in terms of design.
For starters, the Grom has a modern two-part headlamp at the front as opposed to the conventional unit of the Z125. Personally, the Grom has a better upper half, equipped with step-up seats, all-digital instrument console and sporty fuel tank.
Everything under the fuel tank looks better on the Kwaker and their designers have done a good job filling up unnecessary gaps. Some notable features include under-belly exhaust, petal disc brakes, engine guard and a better rear. The half fairing is a great addition too and reminds us of bigger ‘Z’ motorcycles.
