Spicing up its line-up, Kawasaki has launched their new naked Z650 and Z900 in India. Both the bikes look absolutely gorgeous, and though they are now pricier than the out going models, VFM factor is still pretty much intact.
The Z650 is lesser in weight and comes with ABS as standard. The new changes will help it to put up a better fight with the more powerful Benelli TNT 600i in the segment. The Z900, however, will hope to continue the great run of its predecessor.

News from the EICMA 2016: Kawasaki has showcased the upcoming Ninja Z900 and Z650 at the EICMA motor show in Milan, Italy. They will replace the Z800 and ER-6N in all global markets next year.
Here are more details of the bikes from the show:
If you hate the ER-6N, you are going to love the new Z650 but if you love it, well, you are still going to love the new bike. A facelift to the ER-6N was slightly unexpected at this point and it can only be seen as part of Kawasaki’s new strategy in the middleweight space. The manufacturer had earlier brought out a much sharper Ninja 650, which is seen treading very close to the ZX-6R in design.
In terms of looks, the new Kawasaki Z650 borrows some of its design from bigger Z1000/Z900 siblings. It still gets a single headlamp setup but overall design is not tame like the ER-6N. What it has is a bold streetfighter characteristic, which frankly is what everyone is expecting from the segment.
Powering the Ninja 650 is a 649cc twin-cylinder mill, which is also seen on the new Ninja 650. The engine produces 69 bhp of power, which is less than the outgoing model by 2 units. However, lighter frame and swingarm, along with other weight reducing measure have made the bike lighter as well (185 kg).
Some of its features include Assist and Slipper clutch, a conventional monoshock suspension setup at the rear and Nissin sourced brakes
Replacing the hugely popular Z800 in 2017 will be an even better Z900. The new bike gets sharper fairing but overall design remains mostly unchanged. It has better features and a bigger engine as well.
The Kawasaki Z900 is built around an all new steel trellis frame and is lighter than the Z800, at 210.5 kg. Some of its features include inverted front forks, rear monoshock, Nissin sourced brake calipers and standard ABS.
What’s really exciting about this bike is its 948cc, in-line four-cylinder engine. This is the same mill that is seen on the Z1000 and produces maximum of 123.6bhp (increase of 12 bhp from the Z800). This is also a more economical choice for Kawasaki as the Z800 is a standalone model and there isn’t any reason to produce its 806cc engine anymore.
