In case you missed this, Kawasaki is planning to locally assemble their ZX10R in India this year. It is currently priced starting from Rs. 18.8 lakhs and these figures have kept many from buying it til now. In fact, the last of the 2017 stock was sold at a sizeable discount.
New units are expected to be rolled out by July this year, for a price staring from below Rs. 14 lakhs. This makes it the most affordable liter-class motorcycle in the country, trumping the base Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade which retails at 14.78 lakhs (ex-showroom). If you are wondering how the the Honda got so cheap, well, it got a price reduction recently as well.
With the new development, a good part of Kawasaki’s bigger motorcycles are priced affordably. The Z900 is probably one of the most value-for-money offerings under Rs. 10 lakhs, and so is the recently launched Z1000- Kawasaki couldn’t even keep up with the latter’s demand during the initial months of sale.
The Kawasaki ZX10r will be produced in Japan and then assembled at their new Chakan facility.
