Mahindra Mojo UT300- What’s changed?

When compared to the XT300 (yes, that’s what the top-end Mojo is called now), Mahindra has dropped certain features to keep prices down. For starters, conventional forks (with fork braces) replace USD units at the front, while rear gets a gas-charged off-set monoshock. Twin headlamps have been retained, sans LED and the bike only gets one exhaust canister.

Another expected change- the Pirelli tyres have been replaced with MRF Nylogrip Zappers. Though less grippy, the latter has been claimed to last longer.

The Mojo UT300 employs the same 294.72 cc single cylinder liquid-cooled mill as the XT, though with carburetor instead of fuel injection. It produces 4 PS less power at 23.1 PS, and 4.8 Nm less torque at 25.2 Nm, mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Mojo UT300 vs R15 V3 vs Duke 200 vs Dominar – Our pick!

Mahindra Mojo UT300 vs R15 V3 vs Dominar vs Duke

The Mahindra Mojo UT300, KTM Duke 200 and Bajaj Dominar 400 all fall in to a similar price segment and its pretty obvious which our pick is. The Dominar 400 is one of the most value-for-money offering available in India, and it gets features like LED lights, dual instrument console, Slipper clutch and optional ABS. It is miles ahead of the other three in terms of power and torque as well.

Though the Mojo UT300 gets a similar spec sheet as the Dominar, it loses out on some other very important aspects. Even compared to the ageing Duke 200, it still lacks USD forks and is heavier by about 20 kg.

Coming to my personal favorite, the Yamaha R15 V3 is the most affordable bike in this list. Though it is slightly low in terms of specs, the bike gets notable features like sporty Deltabox frame, aggressive seat position, VVA and slipper clutch. It is arguably the best looking one here too, and gets LED light and a very informative digital instrument console.

Yamaha R15 V3 is better that what we expected
