The 2019 Mercedes A Class sedan has been spied for the first time. It is based on the Concept A sedan which Mercedes previewed at the Auto Shanghai this year. This sub-CLA model shuns Mercedes’ 4-door coupe design for a more conventional sedan look. It is expected to reach dealerships next year.

Mercedes A Class sedan design-Interior & Exterior
The new Mercedes A-Class sedan looks similar to its hatchback from the front. The concept was lauded for its design and its very likely that the production version will receive similar praises.
Apart from small changes to aid faster production, the A-Class Sedan doesn’t look all that different from the concept. It adopts a conventional sedan design which is differnet from most modern day Mercedes cars. Its sides look good and gains a rear quarter glass and new alloy wheels. The taillight graphics seem to be similar to the concept and unlike the CLA, they extends on to the boot. Thin strip of LED brake light can be seen on the boot as well.
Reports coming in from USA claim that the new A-Class sedan will have a ‘cutting edge and techy’ interior. Recent spy shots also confirms this and the car seems to get a design similar to bigger Mercedes car. This interior configuration will be extended to all small Mercedes cars in the future.
The A-Class sedan gets a dual-digital screen setup, which though smaller, is similar to some of their bigger cars. There are also circular air-con vents on what seems to be a unclutered dashboard and center console.
Mercedes A Class sedan engine & transmission
The A-Class sedan will carry over many of the A-Class hatchback engine and transmission options. These will also include the car’s partially electrified, 400bhp+ A45 AMG version. Some of the current engine options include 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel.
Mercedes A Class sedan price and release date
The A-Class sedan will reach US dealerships by September 2018. The car will most likely debut and go on sale in the European markets much earlier.
Mercedes A Class Sedan India
Mercedes can easily position the A-Class sedan in the Rs. 10 lakh gap between the A-Class hatchback and the CLA. This is also a space where their chief rivals are not present, thus increasing the car’s prospects.
A sedan from Mercedes in the Rs. 25 lakh range definetly seems lucrative and we hope the manufacturer takes it up. They have however not confirmed anything yet.
