With the introduction of two new models- CB Unicorn 160 and Hornet 160R, Honda pulled out the Unicorn 150 from the market last year. The model was very popular in India and its discontinuation didn’t go well with the customers. Though both the new models gained good sales, they failed to live up to what the old Unicorn had.

To get over their woes, Honda has decided to re-launch the Unicorn 150 in India. This is after showcasing the bike at the Auto Expo, 2016 and getting favorable views.

The design of the bike is identical to the previous Unicorn. It isn’t dashing or particularly eye catching, but promises what it has always delivered- good mileage and ride quality. The bike is only available in red and black colours (yes, no silver).

Powering the Honda Unicorn 150 is a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 13.14 HP at 8500 RPM, with peak torque of 12.84 Nm at 5500 RPM. The engine is BS-IV compliant, meaning that the model is here to stay. The bike retains the same 5-speed manual gearbox. Top speed is rated at 101 kmph.

The bike is built on a diamond type frame and gets telescopic front suspension and a mono shock at the rear. Braking duties are done by disc (240mm) at the front and drum (130mm) at the rear. ABS or CBS is not provided on the current model but should be made available by 2018, when the norms will be much stricter.
