Renault Zoe 400km range motor

When Renault began to tease their Zoe hatchback in January we though that they are going to bring the ‘entire’ car to India. However, only half of it was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. The French automaker did try to make up for the deficit with the Zoe E-Sport concept-which we saw in Geneva last year, and it worked!.

The Zoe comes with the tagline ‘experience innovation’ and is the manufacturer’s first production electric model reaching our shores. It is pretty clear that this model wont be launched in India but what it shows, however, is the manufacturer’s intend of bringing an electric/hybrid model in the future. A CMF-A platform based EV is what they would go with if that happens.

Design wise, the Zoe looks good. It’s easy to understand why Renault thinks this will be one of their best selling EVs in the future. It’s an affordable option in Europe too.

The Zoe measures slightly above the four meter mark. It’s 4084mm long, 1730 mm wide and 1562mm high. It has got a wheelbase of 2588mm and boot space of 338 liter (expandable up to 1225 liters).

The car comes in two variants- R90 and Q90, each with different power and range. The R90 can deliver 92 Ps and 225 Nm with a range of 403 km from 41 kWh battery pack. The Q90 produces 88PS and 220Nm with a range of 370 km from the same battery. Further, the R90 gets a 22 kWh battery pack that gives a range of 240 km on a single charge.

Zoe E-Sport Concept

Renault Zoe E-Sport

The Zoe E-Sport concept looks as exciting as when we first saw. It is a mix of the French manufacturer’s quirky concept design and their ‘R’ performance division’s sportiness.

We are all for a production model of this car but nothing seems to have materialized yet.

Renault Trezor is the most beautiful concept at Villa D’este

The ‘Sport’ is not just in name though, and the E-Sport comes with two 40kWh batteries supplying to two engines producing maximum of 450bhp. Its specification and numbers are impressive as well.
