Suzuki Gixxer 250 will be launched in India on May 20, 2019. Most of its specifications and design have been leaked and it is safe to say the this model won’t be like the GSX-R250 which is available in global markets.
Power comes from a 249 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled, 4-valve, SOHC engine that delivers 26.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This is similar to the Honda CBR250r and way above the Yamaha Fazer-25. Hopefully, Suzuki prices it aggressively, just below the Rs. 1.5 lakhs range.
More details will be shared once the bike is officially revealed. Stay tuned.

The new quarter liter GSX looks absolutely stunning in dual tone shade and is heard to share many mechanicals with the Inazuma.
Just to refresh your memory, the Inazuma is powered by a 248cc parallel-twin cylinder mill producing 24 PS and 22 Nm. It is unlikely reach other global markets in this spec.

Suzuki Gixxer 250 (GSX-R 250)- Full Report
Suzuki GSX-R 250 was a hot topic up until recently and just when it was about to die down, design sketches of the upcoming bike have been leaked from a patent office in Australia.
We are not really sure if this a 250cc motorcycle as popularity of 300+cc segment would be something that Suzuki might have taken note of.
Suzuki Gixxer 250 (GSX-R 250) – Design and features
The bike takes extensive inspiration from the new GSX-R 1000. The front looks great with single butterfly headlamp, which will be a welcome change from the twin-headlamp equipped bikes that will flood the market soon. The side and rear loos sharp as well, and split seats can be seen,
Like most Japanese in the lower segments, with exception of recently launched CBR250RR, the Gixxer 250 will come with conventional telescopic forks.
Overall our impression is hugely positive for the new bike.
More upcoming sub-500cc motorcycles:
Very grainy pictures of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 testing in Europe has been releases.
Update: New video shows the upcoming Suzuki GSX-R 250 much clearly. We get a tease of the front and the digital display as well.
(There are reports that this is the new GSX150R. Full details: Here)
Suzuki Gixxer 250 (GSX-R 250)- Engine
Earlier reports had stated that the GSX-R 250 will feature the same engine that was present on the Inazuma 250. However, the one on the leaked images looks different and may be new. This is great news because, while the Inazuma’s engine is refined, it lacks the peppiness needed for a sportsbike.
If this is a new engine, we should be in for a higher displacement bike, as we told earlier.
We are not expecting segment topping power figures and more realistic numbers will be in the upper or lower half of 30-40 bhp mark, based on the displacement.

It is uncertain how Suzuki plans to market the new bike in India, especially with the influx of new competition. Hopefully we will receive more details in the coming months.
