With sales of the Tata Tiago going strong, the Indian manufacturer is looking at ways to improve the platform even more. They have already brought out the Tigor compact sedan but that won’t be all. The manufacturer is already in discussion of two more poissible variants- Tiago EV & Tiago sport
Tata Motor had already showcased the Bolt EV last year but since both the Nano and Bolt aren’t in their best forms, their obvious choice is to adopt the technology on the Tiago.
Most manufacturers across the world are pursuing EV and hybrids as their ‘Mission 2020’. Tata won’t be falling behind either, as they have already brought out their future mobility brand-TAMO. This brand is likely to concentrate more on electric and hybrid solutions, and incorporating them on one of it’s parent brand’s car wont be a tough thing to do.

The Tiago Electiric, if its made, won’t be much different from the current hatchback. Instead, the car is likely to get new EV-specific colour schemes and interior.

The new Taiago Electric might use TAMO’s MoFlex platform and could even be launched under the brand. However, at the moment details are still scarce.

The Tata Tiago is likely to be sold at a premium when compared to the standard morel. However, with the central government pushing to be more EV-friendly by 2030, we might see increased incentives for electric vehicles whihc will help to bring prices down.
