Tata has decided to cal their production Kite 5 sedan as Tigor. Earlier it was heard that 3 names were in the final shortlist, but Tigor was picked because of its similarity with Tiago.
Based on the number of queries we receive each day, the Tata Tigor might be the most anticipated car of 2017. So one naturally wonder why it is so popular. The car was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, Delhi and is a compact sedan version of the Tiago. But that’s not all; there are some very good reasons why this car is awaited:
Tata Tigor Price
Price and mileage are two important factors that are necessary for the success of any car in the compact sedan segment. The Tiago was launched in India for an introductory price of Rs 3.39 lakhs and Tata has already stated that the Tigor will be priced very competitively (most probably starting at Rs. 4 lakhs). So certain level of affordability will be in place to replicate the former’s success.
Design and looks
The compact sedan space with their uninteresting edges and stubby, glued-on boot was never been fit for any beauty pageant. The Tigor on the other hand, tells a different story.
All the major acquisitions made by Tata over the years and their design houses in both India and abroad bore fruit on the Tiago first and in an even better way on the Tigor now. The car looks amazing, in fact, the best we’ve seen in the segment.
Features, especially the Harman audio system
It’s not always an infotainment system becomes one of the prime reasons to buy a car. But believe us, the ConnectNext Infotainment system by Harman, fitted on the newer breed of Tatas are absolutely brilliant and unbelievable for the said price range. It comes with 8 speakers (4+4) that produce crisp and deep sound. A touchscreen from Bolt/Zest and Tiago’s Juke-car app (connect up to 10 phones simultaneously) will also be seen on the sedan.
Other features like driver and passenger airbags, central locking, engine immobiliser, electrically adjustable LED ORVMs etc will be provided.
Tata Tigor – The Tiago relation
This should have been the first point on our list. It is only because of the success of the Tiago that the Tigor has become so popular in India. It is the car that revived Tata’s passenger brand in the country and has already raked up more than 40,000 sales.
The Indian manufacturer has got everything right with the Tiago and we are hoping that it will be even better with the Tigor.
