India’s first all-electric motorcycle ‘Tork T6X’ has already amassed 1000 pre-booking within 24 hours of unveil. Even though pre-bookings can be done for free, this is still a very impressive number and confirms that the motorcycle has aroused curiosity of the people. The Pune based company has been working on electric motorcycles for almost 7 years now.
The reception that a low powered electric motorcycle has got shows the changing mind-set of Indian people, especially in the cities. The T6X comes with a 6kW (~ 8bhp), 24 Nm electric motor that is mated to an automatic transmission. Front and rear disc brake, large instrument console with navigation & app connectivity, ABS, two ride modes and more are provided in its production spec.
Full charging takes 2 hours with up to 80% charge achieved in 1 hour itself. Top speed is 100 kmph.
Anyone can pre-book the bike by visiting the manufacturer’s website, after which you can take a test drive. Once you are satisfied with the product you can pay the booking amount and wait for your bike which will only arrive next year.
