The 2016 TVS X21 Concept has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2016, Delhi. The bike is a semi faired, race inspired version of the recently launched TVS Apache RTR200 4V and gets better features.
The concept has been provided with half fairing, and a very aggressive design language. Most of the design is made keeping the weight as low as possible and reducing the drag. The bike gets features like a new compact, lightweight chassis with low center of mass, steering dampers, telescopic suspension at front, gas filled monoshock units at the rear, performance kit and other race specific components like race levers. The instrument console is an all digital unit, and displays variety of information (including acceleration timer and lap timer). The TVS X21 concept was the perfect way for the Indian manufacturer to showcase their race and technological prowess.
Powering the bike is a revamped version of the engine that is doing duty on the Apache RTR200 4v- A 212.4cc single cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC unit that has been tuned to produce more power. The engine is fed by twin straight flow air filters, and gets twin free flow exhaust canisters ( producing great sound) and twin oil-cooler, for better oil circulation and cooling.
The TVS X21 as such will not be launched in India, however a semi-faired version of the Apache RTR200 is not completely out of question. TVS is heard to be working on a fully faired motorcycle based on the BMW G 310 R.
