New Bikes in India 2016-2017– This post lists out all the upcoming bikes in India, that are going to be launched in the years 2016-2017.

UM Renegade and Renegade Sport S
US motorcycle manufacturer United Motors will be making an official entry in India in 2016, and they have a number of bikes lined up. Three motorcycles from the Renegade series namely Renegade Commando, Renegade Classic and Renegade Sport S,, will be the first to be launched. The launch may take place as early as the Auto Expo 2016.

Another interesting motorcycle from the manufacturer is a 180cc streetfighter, equipped with some segment first features. The manufacturer is researching the adventure segment as well – UM Hypersport.

Yamaha YZF-R15 V3
Yamaha will bring the much awaited upgrade to the YZF-R15 V3 this year, with some improved mechanicals and a fresher design. The New R15 will share design ques with the YZF-R125 and the R3, and will come with a higher tuned engine and new features. However much to the dismay of many, the engine is not expected to be upgraded to a 200cc one.

Yamaha M-slaz (Yamaha MT-15)
Yamaha is also expected to launch a naked version of the Yamaha R15 in India in the same time period.

Update: Yamaha FZ 25 launched instead of MT-15
TVS will be reintroducing the popular Victor commuter in the country in 2016. The bike will sport the same 109cc eco-thrust engine, but will get some improved features

TVS Apache 200

TVS will launch a 200cc Apache in 2016, which is heard to rival the Duke 200 in power. The bike was spotted testing many times on road, and shares some similarities with the Draken concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2014.
Expected launch date: January-February 2016 (To be unveiled on January 20)

BMW Motorrad recently unveiled their first sub-500cc naked motorcycle-The G 310 R, which will be produced locally in India. A faired TVS version of this motorcycle will be launched in India in 2017, with similar specs and aesthetics. A fully faired version of the bike is also on cards. (read more…)

Benelli Naked TNT T-135 and Benelli Motord 250/BX 250
The Benelli TNT T-135 and the Benelli Motord 250/ BX 250 has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. The bikes are expected to be launched in the country by early 2015.
The Benelli TNT T-135 gets a design inspired by bigger Benelli models, but is puny in comparison. It is powered by a 135cc single-cylinder engine, producing 12.6hp at 9000rpm and 10.8Nm of torque at 7000rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Benelli Motord 250 will open up an all new ‘dirt bike’ segment in the country, and gets a quarter liter single-cylinder engine that churns out 25hp of power at 9000rpm and 21Nm of torque at 7000rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Bajaj Pulsar 150NS
Bajaj launched wide range of motorcycle in 2015, and seems to have already exhausted their portfolio. They will not be a part of the 2016 Auto Expo.
The news about the Pulsar 150NS has been around for quite some time now, and Bajaj should launch it this year

Bajaj Pulsar 200CS
The Bajaj Pulsar 200CS is a smaller version of the 375cc Cruiser Sport model showcased at the last Auto Expo (400CS). It shares similar design with the CS400, and will be powered by the same engine that is on the 200SS. More news on the bike is provided on the link below.

Hero HX250r and Hero XF3r
The Hero HX 250r has been long time coming and we expect the motorcycle to be launched in 2016. Even though their partnership with EBR broke down (with EBR filling in for Bankruptcy), Hero MotoCorp is confident that their engineers will complete the bike(which was confirmed to be in final stages of development at the time of the split).
Also in the expected line up is a quarter liter streetfighter Hero XF3r

Royal Enfield Himalayan
Venturing into a completely new territory for the manufacturer, The Royal Enfield Himalayan should not just be tough and sturdy like the mountain it is named after, but also ready to ride over anything nature dishes out at it.Let’s just hope the price aren’t as steep.
Falling into an adventure-cruiser category, the Himalayan undoubtedly gets on of the top spot in our most promising upcoming launches.

Honda NXR 160
The Honda NXR Dual sport will be similar to the Hero Impulse in design, however it will get an improved 1600cc powertrain.

Expected price: Rs.75,000
Hyosung GD250N is a single cylinder quarter liter streetfighter, based on the manufacturer’s GD250R. Like the GD250R, the GD250N has a very interesting unique design, that should come at an affordable price tag.

Suzuki GSX-R250 (Gixxer 250 SF)
The picture of the Suzuki GSX-R250 may or may not be authentic, but we are hopeful that something like that would indeed come up. Suzuki seriously need to up the ante, if they are to keep up with the rising competition.

Mahindra Mojo Adventure, Mojo Cafe Racer and new colours.
Two new variants of the Mahindra Mojo- The Mojo Adventure and Mojo Cafe racer is expected to be launched. Both the bikes were showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Mojo is also expected to be updated with new colours in the following months.
