The US Army will soon begin to phase out their Hummers for a new and advanced Oshkosh Defence JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle). The deal, which is valued at $75 million, provides 6107 JLTV vehicles and 22,166 kits starting September 2019.
The upgrade comes after an increase in military firepower across the world. The Hummer’s existing armour is not sufficient anymore and any improvement would likely impair its performance- leaving no choice but to find replacements.
It comes powered by a tuned version of General Motors’ Duramax 6.6-litre turbodiesel V8 producing 340 BHP of power.
