The 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt has been revealed at the ongoing Detroit Motor Show by none other than Steven McQueen’s granddaughter Molly McQueen. It gets ‘atleast’ 475 hp of power and comes in classic ‘Dark Highland Green’ and Shadow Black colours.

The Bullitt is one of the rarer Mustang editions you’ll come by. It’s named after Steven McQueen’s famous 1968 movie ‘Bullitt’ and apart from the original, Mustangs with this name tag where released in 2001 and 2008. All these versions (including the 2019) have the original’s classic green colour, adorning a body devoid of any badging and external details.

There are other subtle additions too, like the chrome accents around the grille and windows as well as 19-inch torque thrust aluminum wheels. At its back, the Mustang Bullitt gets a standard issue active exhaust upgrade with black exhaust tips.
Inside its cabin, the shiny white cue-ball manual gear lever and the ‘Bullitt’ logo on the steering wheel are dead giveaways that his is not your standard Mustang. Three factory installed interior trims are available including a Bullitt Electronics Package with MagneRide semi-active suspension and Recaro black leather-trimmed seats.
The 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt comes powered by the same 5.0-liter V8 that’s on the Mustang GT and as Ford puts it, it is tuned to return ‘atleast’ 475 hp. This means that the numbers are still work-in-progress.
Ford Mustang Bullitt Editions – Which one’s your favorite?
The 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt, for me, is still the best version. It is the closest they’ve come to the original model and had a clean design, rectangular grille and even round headlights. The new model looks good and, one might say, even better than the 2001 version but its overly sharp lines and creases don’t seem to compliment the ‘Bullitt’ name tag.
