The Jeep Gladiator made debut in LA Auto Show last year, and is now all set to release as a 2020 model. It will be available in six variants, starting with the ‘Sport’ at $33,545.
The truck falls in to segment that currently has Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacomo, and more, with prices on the highest side.

Jeep Gladiator – Design and Variants
For starters, Jeep has stretched the wheelbase of the Gladiator by 19.4 inches (to 281 inches) so as to accommodate the bed. This makes it the longest vehicle in the manufacturer’s lineup and a very imposing figure on road (as the images tell us). However, the length won’t affect its off-road prowess and a new rear suspension is provided to attest this. Further, it has been put through every inch of the Rubicon trail, just like any other Jeep.
The truck’s seemingly low stance can still wade 30-inches of water, and is ergonomic enough to allows an average sized person can reach into the bottom of its bed.
Variants: Soft top, hard top, windshield and more
Like the Wrangler, the Gladiator will be available in a Soft Top as well as (two) Hard top models, which is a first for the segment. Also, it gets removable doors and roof, along with foldable windshield. The truck itself is only available in a four-door crew cab configuration though.
A range of 200 accessories will be made available through Jeep’s Mopar division.
Gladiator Rubicon and Launch Edition
The Rubicon is the most expensive standard model and starts at $43,545. This will get you more off-road kit, LED headlights and 17″ polished wheels. There are wide range optional accessories available too, taking the cost up to $60,000 fully kitted-out.
Jeep is also making a fully-kitted ‘limited Launch Edition’ Rubicon model, priced at $60,815. Only 4,190 of these will be available.
Engine and specs
Powering the Gladiator is a 3.6L Gasoline V6 mated to either eight-speed auto or six-speed manual. It can produce maximum of 285-horsepower, sending power to all four wheels. There’s 3.0-liter V6 diesel as well with 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque- claimed to come with best-in-class towing and payload capacity. However, this model will only be available in 2020.
