The Yamaha Spark 135 has been spotted in India. It was present at the Madras Motor Race Track during the media event for TVS Apache RR310, but for what reason is unknown at the moment.
The Spark 135 was introduced for the Indonesia market in 2005. It was later extended to other South East Asian markets including Thailand and Malaysia.
The scooter is small and peppy and seeing as to how it lacks a front fender and number plate holder, this is probably a track-only unit. Power comes from a 134.4 cc liquid cooled SOHC engine producing 11.4 PS of power at 8,500 rpm, and 11.65 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The gear lever indicates that this is a manual transmission model (4-speed), which was discontinued in 2016. Only a T-150 automatic variant is currently available.
The Yamaha Spark 135 gets a telescopic suspension at the front and monocross unit at the rear. Braking is carried out by single disc up front and drum at the rear.
Yamaha Spark 135 India
You can understand why a manual transmission scooter could be very fun around the tracks, and that’s probably why it was present at the venue. We can’t think of any other reason yet as Yamaha has no plans to launch the scooter in India.
