Yamaha has finally revealed their Tenere 700 ADV. A fan-favorite, the Tenere has been long-time coming and is based on the T7 concept which Yamaha showcased a few years back. However, before running to your nearest dealer’s, know that the model will only be available in 2020 as a 2021 model!
Release date- testing patience quite a bit?
We had to check twice, and yep, it’s definitely mid-2020. There might be good hype surrounding the Tenere but 2020 seems a bit too far for me, and even loyalists might not wait that long. A release within the next 8-10 months would have been a different story altogether.
..but all this time is not wasted
The Tenere 700, through Yamaha’s Ténéré 700 World Raid testing scheme, has been put through some of the most gruesome conditions that the world has to offer. A whole lot of R&D has gone in to it, and its ride quality, element-protection and durability should be top-notch.
Yamaha Tenere 700 ADV- Design and specs
The Tenere is based on an all-new, double-cradle tubular steel frame and resembles its concept quite a bit. It looks nimble and lightweight, and gets ergonomically designed front fascia and windscreen. The bike has 62-inches of wheelbase and nearly 10-inch ground clearance.
Coming to the mechanicals, there’s a 43mm USD long-travel suspension at the front and rally-style link-type suspension with a remotely-adjustable shock at the rear. Braking duties are carried out by dual discs at front and single one at the rear, each controlled by switchable ABS.
